Third aware siripa🍁🙏 ep 03 We walked forward through heavy fog and wind. More flowers have been planted along the road than there were last month.  Yellow flowers bloomed like a carpet across the road.  We collected Tolobo, Maharatmal, Binara and many other unnamed flowers to offer to Sri Pada. The wind blows so fast that it blows us away. Facing the wind, it is extremely difficult to move forward.  But we reached the top of Sri Pada in a short time of about an hour.  The doors to the Udamaluwa  were closed.  On both previous occasions we worshiped from those gates.  At that time it was Murthy Aiya who was guarding the Sri Pada.  As usual, we worshiped Sri Pada from near the gates and went to Murthy Aiya's room to say goodbye.  He looked at us with a kind smile and asked, "Where are the houses, brothers?". We came from Gallella ......

Third aware siripa🍁🙏 ep 02  As darkness fell we reached Haramithipana. We have to go up another 2000 steps to our accommodation.  We will not be able to get there before nightfall.  But we moved on.   After a while the night dawned.   Wildlife is active at night. Fortunately, elephants do not roam the area where we should go.   But we can be harmed by leopards, wild boars and snakes.  We lit the torches. Wild animals move away when they hear human voices.  So we went on singing and singing. Due to the thick fog our torches are not clearly visible ahead.  We arrived at the lodge without any accident .   We were amazed by the flashlight light coming towards us from our accommodation.  Someone else is in the shed.  When we looked, we saw two monks standing in the forest and meditating in the shed.  We bowed to the...

Third awara siripa🍁🙏 ep 01 The third Awara Siripa pilgrimage is the best trip I have ever taken. This time we chose Palabaddala Raja Mawatha for the trip.  Come and walk with Journey of Gemcity through the cold forest.   This time four people participated in our trip.  We arrived at the Palabaddala Temple around 8 am with all our belongings. We parked our bikes there and drove on.   About 1km further we came across a police checkpoint.  A young police officer stopped us.  He said it was not allowed to travel on this road.  If you  want to proceed, you have to get permission from a senior police officer.   We asked him to let us go.  But he did not allow it and came to Erathna Road in a three wheeler near us.   It was already noon.  Elephants roam the Erathna road at night.   So we must go to the shed at the foot of the Sri...

Second awara siripa🍁🙏 ep 02 The next day the sun rose. We came out of the tent.  It is foggy and cold because there is no rain.  We made hot coffee and drank.  We made noodles, cleaned the shed, and packed our bags.   For a moment we saw the mist-covered mount  Sri Pada. We entered the "Sripadha Udamaluwa"  amidst the flowers and cold winds as before..  We met Raja Aiya, the guard guarding the Udamaluwa  during the off season.  He was talking to us for about an hour.  At this time the doors to the  Udamaluwa  are locked. We worshiped Sri Pada from near the door.  Then we headed back to the foot of the mountain.  From our accommodation at the foot of the hill we continued on to Idikatupana.   As we rested on the rocky plateau, we heard a crash a few meters into the jungle.  At the same time I heard the roar...

This time our team had five participants.  About ten in the morning we arrived in Erathna.   This time we came by motorbike and took the Varanagala short road which avoided about 3km of difficult part of the journey.  A section of the road was severely damaged due to heavy rains a few days ago.  We  can't go beyond that on motorcycles. So we parked the bicycle  and started walking.   We ent...
